Off duty, Nala transforms into a loving companion. She thrives on gentle companionship, curling up at your feet after a big day and leaning into your lap when she’s tired. Her affectionate nature makes her just as at ease on the family couch as she is in the field. -
Paul - Trainer/Coach
Paul is the visionary founder, lead trainer, and head coach at Salute the Outdoors. With over 15 years of upland shooting, dog training, and outdoor instruction under his belt, he combines his love for the sport with a rich background as a U.S. Army Warrant Officer. In the military, Paul served as a tactical and technical expert—training soldiers, advising commanders, and solving complex challenges in high-pressure environments.
Translating those exacting standards to the uplands, Paul and his team offer mentorship not only as a passionate hunter but also seasoned advisor. He’s an expert in gear, strategy, dog handling, and safety—ready to guide you with military precision and outdoor know-how. Whether you’re launching your first season or refining your skills, Paul’s leadership ensures every program is structured, strategic, and deeply rooted in respect for the sport.

Hazel brings the best of both worlds: at home, she’s the picture of a beloved house dog—calm, cuddly, and content to curl up with you on chilly fall evenings. But once she’s in the field, her heart ignites. With uncanny focus and acute attention to detail, Hazel puts on a masterful display—locking into point and staying steady until you're ready.

Led by seasoned outdoorsmen and supported by our world-class German Shorthaired Pointers, this hands-on experience goes far beyond pulling the trigger.
From learning the basics of safe shotgun handling to experiencing the thrill of a working bird dog on point, each youth is guided through a journey that builds lifelong skills, fosters respect for nature, and creates memories that last a lifetime.
